Email Signatures
by: admin
2008-11-18 16:27:04

We use Lotus Notes at work. I've always been a GroupWise guy from my earliest days of working at WordPerfect (back when it was called Office 3.0). However, these past couple of years I've had to learn more and more about Notes. One of the things that our users have always wanted was to make cool signatures for their email.

Lotus Notes supports the use of text, graphics, and HTML files for signatures. The company I work for consists of many different business units, each with their own identity. The leaders of these business units want each of their users to have a consistent image, even when it comes to their email signatures. So, to make this easy to deploy, I developed a simple PHP web page that allows each user to create their own signature that follows a consistent layout.

I've placed the source code in the Utilities category on my Downloads page and made it available here.

This particular version has some basic validation built-in, and it can be easily customized through the use of JavaScript and PHP.

The Fight Against Cancer
by: admin
2010-07-15 15:24:45

Those of you who know me probably know that I've been a supporter of cancer research for the past few years. This desire was reinforced by the death of a friend and co-worker in 2007. Since then, I have been doing what little bit I can to help in the fight against cancer, including donating computer time and money.

One of the ways we can all help is to support people like Douglas Craig, who is taking time out of his life to walk across the United States to raise money for cancer research. I applaud his efforts, and encourage anyone who is able to donate to his worthy cause.

You can find more information on his web site:
